On July 26, 2017, MC Development LLC and the Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry (Arbuzov IOPC, Kazan Scientific Center, Russian Academy of Sciences) concluded an agreement on intentions for joint implementation of the project titled ‘Development of Innovations-Based Preparation for Curing the Alzheimer Disease’. Research conducted by authors from the Arbuzov IOPC revealed a new class of cholinesterase inhibitors with unique binding capabilities with respect to the molecule of acetyl cholinesterase (ACE). At the same time, cholinesterase inhibitors are used in medical practice for pharmacological correction of consequences of defects which are the underlying reason of the Alzheimer disease, myasthenia gravis. Pharmaceutical industry produces a large number of anti-cholinesterase preparations, but application of traditional ACE inhibitors is efficient only with respect to the principal symptoms of this disease (memory disorders), and, unfortunately, it has no influence on ethiology of the disease. This shortcoming significantly reduces application of anti-ACE preparations. The main reason of existing shortcoming, as far as existing inhibitors are concerned, lies in peculiarities of binding of this molecule with ACE. Results of researches conducted by specialists from the IOPC demonstrate big prospects of their development, and our companies have high hopes for it.

On May 20, 2018, MC Development LLC concluded an agreement on cooperation with the company of Insucap Ltd. (Cyprus) for the purpose of provision of expert and research support during implementation of the project titled ‘Micro-Capsulated Recombinant Human Insulin for Peroral Application, Hard Gelatin Capsules of 1 and 5 МЕ’. Insucap Ltd. is a project company whose activities are related to development of an innovations-based preparation of recombinant human insulin in micro-capsulated form, ensuring protection of hormone from effects of aggressive environment of gastro-intestinal tract, by way of usage of pH-dependent biodegradable polymer complexes. The scientific work conducted by the company allows, with certainty, to expect success in development of oral form of insulin. Cooperation between our companies will allow to supplement the project with such researches and tests that are necessary for its development, and will make easier its implementation for pharmaceutical companies in Russia and abroad.

On November 21, 2018, MC Development LLC became member of the Bio-Organics Consortium, Center of National Technological Initiative (CNTI), M.M. Shemyakin — Yu.A. Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, pursuant to the decision taken by the Consortium Board on October 16, 2018. CNTI Consortium (IBOC RAS) is a partnership of companies and scientific organizations from Russia, with a focus on speeding up implementation of new promising and innovations-based developments.

On December 28, 2018, MC Development LLC signed an agreement on cooperation with M.M. Shemyakin — Yu.A. Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IBOC) on joint development of cheaper and more productive technology for manufacture of liraglutide molecule (used for correction of sugar level in patients with diabetes mellitus and for lowering body weight in patients with alimentary obesity and glucose tolerance). IBOC RAS, using many years of work experience in manufacture of peptide molecules with the usage of microbiological producers, created a highly-productive producer strain of liraglutide predecessor and worked out technological methods for fermentative treatment of product. By joint efforts, our companies plan to conduct the whole range of researches with the obtained biotechnology product, and to organize the process of production of ready pharmaceutical form of preparation in single-use pen injectors. The new preparation is to become more accessible for patients with diabetes mellitus and obesity, and is to make their life more comfortable.
